Step-by-Step Guide

How to apply for the SEAI grant

VoltHub walks you through every step. Here's exactly what happens from start to finish.

1
Before installation

Check you're eligible

You must own your home, own or be purchasing an EV, and not have previously claimed this grant. Use our checker above to confirm in 60 seconds.

2
Before installation

Get a quote from a SEAI-registered installer

The installer must be registered on the SEAI portal — all VoltHub installers are. Get your free quote through VoltHub and we'll confirm your installer's registration.

3
Before installation

Apply on seai.ie before the installation

You must apply for the grant before the installation takes place — not after. Go to seai.ie, create an account, and submit your application. You'll need your MPRN number (on your electricity bill).

4
During installation

Your installer completes the work

Your VoltHub installer carries out the installation and provides all required documentation — commissioning certificate, electrical cert, and photos.

5
During installation

Installer submits completion documents to SEAI

Your installer uploads the completion documents to the SEAI portal on your behalf. This is part of the standard process — your VoltHub installer handles it.

6
After installation

SEAI pays the €300 grant

SEAI reviews the documents and pays the €300 grant directly to your installer. Your installer deducts this from your final invoice — you pay the balance only. Typically processed within 4–6 weeks.
